Kuwait tariffs may rise by 50 per cent
Classified users will see electricity and water price hikes in Kuwait
The Kuwait cabinet is expected to approve propose increases in electricity and water tariffs, following a study into the existing rates and the country’s current energy production, an Arab Times report has said.
The increase is expected to be between 20 and 50 per cent, depending on the activities of the consumers, and end-users will be classified into four groups depending on consumption. Sources have also said that factories will be given special dispensation, to avoid the raising of product prices to cover costs.
