New cable factory for UAE
7,000 tonnes of specialised cables to be produced in Ras Al Khaimah
A $45 million cable factory in the UAE has been officially inaugurated by his Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, marking significant investment in the region.
The new manufacturing facility, located at Ras Al Khaimah and owned by Middle East Specialised Cables, will be one of the region’s largest producers of industrial instrumentation, control and low-voltage power cables, supplying the UAE and Gulf countries.
Spread over 76,000 square metres on two sites, the plant will have an initial production capacity of 7,000 tonnes a year. A spokesman for Middle East Specialised Cables said: “The new manufacturing facility will give a further boost for MESC group products, and also to the economic growth of the region, with the surging demand for cables across the Mena region expected to fuel the company’s growth.”
