Emirates Central Cooling Corporation (Empower), the largest district cooling service provider in the region has said that umarkets outside the UAE where district cooling penetration is weak are the best targets to expand its business. 

Ahmed Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower said: " “We see huge potential for expansion in various areas in the UAE as district cooling gains momentum. Moreover, we are intensifying our efforts to expand our presence in other parts of the Gulf where use of district cooling is still low.” 

Bin Shafar added that the company was growing in its home market.

“Empower has achieved growth which goes along with the greater awareness in the UAE of the importance of using district cooling as an alternative to conventional air conditioning. Moreover, the real estate projects served by the company have increased in the last period.”

Chairman HE Saeed Al Tayer said that the company is performing in line with expectations.

“Empower has achieved outstanding results in record timing," he said. "The company managed to position for itself a leader in district cooling industry not just at the local level, but also regionally and internationally by adopting global best practices, leveraging on the accumulative marketing and technical expertise of its teams of over 300 people led by Ahmed Bin Shafar.”

HE Al Tayer added: “Empower succeeded in diversifying its client base and adopting best practices in managing its operations by adopting a conservative spending strategy and attracting well experienced teams. This all helped in taking the company to a leading position from a finance and services perspectives.”
