South Korean firm Hanwha Engineering and Construction has announced that it has signed a $1.05 billion deal to build a power station and desalination plant in Saudi Arabia, according to AFP.

Planning to complete the plant by 2014 in a deal with Marafiq, it will be built in the Yanbu industrial complex north of Jeddah. Hanwha is already constructing a $750 million plant in the same area for Marafiq, which is set for completion in 2012.
