Poll reveals many don't trust water from Kingdom's desalination plants
A recent survey has discovered that 41 per cent of Saudi Arabia’s residents are unconvinced by the quality of desalinated water, instead preferring bottled water, a report by the Saudi Gazette has revealed.
Some of those polled also expressed concern about who guaranteed the purity of the water and whether, in the absence of scheduled maintenance, water pipelines are mixed with sewage or groundwater.
However, the report also stated that 11 per cent considered desalinated water to be safer and cleaner than water from treatment plants.
