Syria and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement which will see Saudi contributing $73 million to help fund the construction of a power station in Deir Al-Zor, the Kuwait News Agency has reported.

The agreement was signed by the Syrian Minister of Finance Mohammad Al-Hussein and Saudi’s Aibrahim Al-Assaf, and will allow Syria to begin attempting to meet increasing demand for energy on the local market.
