Energy efficiency high on WETEX agenda
ABB showcases pioneering power and automation technology at WETEX
In response to the rising demand of energy efficiency and grid reliability, and also a focus on renewable energy sources, ABB will be showcasing pioneering power and automation technologies at this week’s WETEX show in Dubai.
The current trend is to rethink how energy is used, recovered and conserved says ABB, creating new opportunities for technology companies which have a range of offerings to enable efficient production and usage of water and all types of energy, from solar, wind and more traditional varieties.
According to ABB’s local division manager for power systems in the Gulf, Johan De Villiers, soaring energy prices combined with concern about climate change from man-made emissions of carbon dioxide have also propelled energy efficiency to the top of the agenda in the boardroom, in public debate and in public policy.
“ABB will be demonstrating how it helps to raise efficiency at every stage along the energy value chain, from the production of electricity and its distribution, to its end use by industrial, utility, commercial and residential consumers,” he said.
The company will also be giving three papers in the associated conference on environment measurement method techniques, energy efficient solutions and implementation methodology in power and water, and on waste heat to water.
