Arabian Power and Water Summit announced

Leaders in water and electricity discuss future of regional sector

The annual MEED Arabian Power and Water Summit will take place on 28-29 March this year, held under the patronage of the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA).

Providing a comprehensive analysis of the current state of the regional power and water market, the summit will attract an influential gathering of government and private-sector industry leaders, exploring the upcoming project and investment opportunities in the sector.

H.E. Abdulla Saif al-Nuaimi, director of privatisation directorate at ADWEA, will lead the lineup of distinguished speakers which also includes Dr. Yousef Alyousef, Executive Director, National Energy Efficiency Program (NEEP), Dr. Saleh Alawji, Deputy Minister of Electricity for Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Water and Electricity and Suhalia Marafi, Director, Department of Studies and Research, Ministry of Electricity and Water, Kuwait.

Edmund O’Sullivan, MEED events chairman, said: “MEED and ADWEA are honoured to host some of the most prominent organisations in the region again at the 2011 Summit, to discuss, debate and decide the future of the regional sector.” He added: “As we are all aware these have been unsettling times and a period of uncertainty across the globe.

"However, the region’s power and water projects have maintained a steady pace of development and continue to offer substantial opportunities.”
