The Saudi Electricity Company has awarded a US$105 million contract to build a 380kV substation and upgrade another to alfanar Construction, the contractor has announced.

The new substation in Al Jouf will connect the region to the main national grid, improving the connectivity in the Kingdom, and increasing the reliability of supply in the region.

alfanar will also be expanding the 380kV Hail substation.

Both projects will be completed within 25 months, says the company.
