The UAE and the US signed an agreement on Wednesday to further their partnership in the emirate’s peaceful nuclear energy programme.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Anwar Gargash, and the US Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, signed the Memorandum of Understanding in Abu Dhabi, local media reported on Thursday.
The agreement allows for the exchange of information and training of personnel, access to US nuclear laboratories and workshops, Khaleej Times reported.

Gargash said: “The arrangement is a further framework for co-operation between the two governments in the peaceful nuclear energy field”, the official WAM news agency reported.
Chu also toured Abu Dhabi’s carbon neutral Masdar City, and indicated the US department of energy could partner with Masdar in the future, the National reports.
