A report has shown that Iran’s daily exchange of electricity with neighbouring countries hit 1.77 gigawatt hours on January 27.

The Tehran Times has reported that Armenia exported and Iraq imported the highest amounts of electricity to and from Iran, with exports also to Afghanistan, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Pakistan and Turkey. Imports, totalling 542 megawatts, were from Armenia and Turkmenistan, and in the report the deputy Iranian energy minister predicted that the country’s value of electricity exports would hit $1bn by the end of March.
