Iran’s deputy energy minister has announced that the nation’s controversial nuclear facility is to become fully operational in early February.
In a report by Press TV, Ali Zabihi said that the plant was currently operating at less than half of its 1,000 megawatt capacity, but will shortly be operating at 100 per cent, pending final tests.
In September last year the plant was officially connected to Iran’s national grid, and the Iran Atomic Energy Organisation has confirmed that the facility’s output will be increased to 75 per cent and then 100 per cent in 2012.
