Masdar's Shams 1 will launch Q3 2012

Masdar Power’s director Frank Wouters has said that the company’s 100 megawatt Shams 1 concentrated solar thermal plant will begin operating in the third quarter of 2012.
Speaking at a conference in Dubai, Wouters said that the company, which is a champion of renewable energy in the Middle East, is also waiting for consent from Abu Dhabi’s executive council to build the Noor 1 photovoltaic plant.
