An EPC contract worth $190m for the construction of a new Habshan-Ruwais-Shuweihat gas pipeline, has been awarded to Larsen and Toubro Ltd, which will supply natural gas to TAKREER’s new refinery expansion, and to ADWEA in Shuweihat.
At an overall length of 122km, the pipeline will be 52” between Habshan and Ruwais, and 48” between Ruwais and Shuweihat. The turn-key project was awarded by GASCO, and the two sections are to be completed in 24 months (Ruwais) and 26 months (Shuweihat), with Larsen and Toubro managing the design and procurement work from its office in New Delhi.
The project’s front end engineering design was completed earlier this year.
