A new 750 megawatt power station will be built in Diala, Iraq, the country’s cabinet has announced in a report by Aswat al-Iraq.
The Adviser for Reconstruction and Investment Rasim Ismael said that the local government had received cabinet approval to construct the power station in the Himreen area, northeast of Baaquba.

Built by a French company, the plant will provide more generation capacity than the province needs, and will cease the area’s dependency on the Iranian supply line, which provides just 30 per cent of the required capacity.
