Iran will begin the process to produce nuclear fuel plates following an announcement by officials, according to a report by the Tehran Times.
Presidential advisor Mojtaba Hashemi-Samareh said: “We will produce nuclear fuel plates so that the world understands that if Iranian scientists want, they can reach the heights of progress and honour”, the report stated, as he also criticised the West’s attitude towards Iran’s nuclear programme, calling it “baseless” and “a fiasco.”
The Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran’s first priority will be to provide 20 per cent enriched nuclear fuel plates to power the Tehran reactor, also planning to produce three to five per cent enriched fuel plates to power the almost-complete Bushehr plant, currently fed by Russian-sourced fuel.
