An $11.9m loan agreement has been signed by the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in order to cover extra expenses needed for the third phase of the Samra Power Generation Company expansion project, The Jordan Times has reported.

The Jordanian project is partially funded by KFAED, and includes the establishment of two power generation units, powered by both diesel and natural gas, each with a generation capacity of 100MW.
In total, the expansion project’s bill runs to JD143 million, and is also funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the government and the Saudi Development Fund.
