Two research projects in Abu Dhabi are to receive Dh500,000 of funding in order to investigate the management and future changes of water resources in the region, the Gulf News has reported.
Announced during the launch of Water for the World exhibition, the projects will also see researchers investigating the sustainability of ground water in the UAE.
Abdul Aziz Al Hajiri, chief executive of the exhibition’s founder Borouge, said: “These two researches are conducted in partnership with the Emirates Foundation, to investigate the sources of groundwater and suggest ways to improve the management of these resources and the ability to estimate future changes in water reservoirs.”
