Saudi Arabia is predicted to account for nearly 17 per cent of the Middle East and Africa’s regional power generation within the next four years, according to BMI’s latest Saudi Arabia Power Report Q1 2011.

The report forecasts an increase in regional generation to 1,518 terawatt hours by 2015, indicating a rise of almost 25 per cent from 2010 to 2015.

In the same timescale, Saudi Arabia is also predicted to account for more than 18 per cent of thermal generation; an area that will grow in production in the Middle East and Africa region by 20.8 per cent by 2015, but see a reduced market share at 90.8 per cent from 93.3 per cent.
