Tender process for Oman plant almost complete

Oman will invest around US $7.8 billion (OR3 billion) in new power and water projects over the next six years, according to the head of the country’s Public Authority for Electricity and Water.
Reuters quoted Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Mahrouqi as saying that the tender process for the electricity and desalination plant in Oman's Marbat district was nearing completion.
The power station will have a capacity of 420MW.
In July, the Oman Power and Water Company issued tenders for two independent power projects in Barka and Sohar.
Earlier this month, the Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) signed five deals worth more than $109 million to expand power generation capacity.
